Hospitality management students bring home awards in the 15th National Food Showdown

BS Hospitality Management students of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management brought home awards in the 15th National Food Showdown “Lutong Ala Eh” held at the University of Batangas – Lipa Campus from November 21-22, 2024. The Hospitality Management students trained and participated in a total of 11 categories that focused on food and beverage service, mixology, coffee concoction, culinary and pastry arts. The students, who competed either individually, as a pair, or as a group, participated in the following:

Table Setting with Floral Centerpiece (Each team of 3 is to set-up in 30 minutes a table for 2 persons following the theme: Eat, Pray, Love Lipa)

Award: Gold with Distinction – Highest Award

Napkin Folding (Each participant is to execute 6 traditional folds and 1 original fold within 3 minutes following the theme: Eat, Pray, Love Lipa)

Coffee Concoction (Each participant to create 1 traditional and 1 original coffee concoction within 15 minutes using Lipa Kapeng Barako)

Best Traditional/Modern Regional Cooking Technique – Goto Batangas (Each pair is to prepare within 1 hour a traditional and modern version of the given dish Lipa – Goto)
