Oliver Shane R. Dumaoal is a faculty member at the Department of Medical Technology Faculty of Pharmacy of the öÏÓãÊÓƵapp. He is a registered medical technologist with graduate degrees in the same field. He is also a Certified Biorisk Officer and finished his Advanced Biorisk Officers’ Training under the auspices of the National Institutes of Health of the University of the Philippines – Manila with support from the United States Department of State Biosecurity Engagement Program and Civilian Research and Development Foundation. He is also a recipient of the öÏÓãÊÓƵapp Professional Certification in Biorisk Management Grant from the Malaysia Biosafety and Biosecurity Association in Kuala Lumpur and is a certified professional in biorisk management by the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA). He is also a subject matter expert of the National Training Center for Biosafety and Biosecurity under the National Institutes of Health of the University of the Philippines Manila and is instrumental in delivering trainings and modules for biosafety and biosecurity in clinical laboratories and related fields. He has co-authored books and monographs for diverse topics in medical technology practice such as Principles of Medical Laboratory Science, Laboratory Manual in Immunohematology and Blood Banking and Biosafety Guidance in COVID-19 Testing alongside numerous scientific publications with research interests in the fields of natural products, life science research and biorisk management. He holds various positions and memberships in a multitude of national professional organizations and is currently the Vice President of the Biorisk Association of the Philippines, a National Board Director of the Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology and Public Health (PASMETH), Regional Director for the Southern Luzon Region of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET) and concurrently its national committee chair for PAMET chapters, former President of PAMET Batangas Chapter, and a former Trustee of the Philippine Council for Quality Assurance in Clinical Laboratories (PCQACL).
