• other medical problems. A well collected and properly prepared smears can effectively supplant or complement expensive diagnostic procedures and make medical care more affordable.

• Daysog鈥檚 Atlas of Urinary Sediments is the result of 40 years of study and scientific investigation among urinalysis of Filipino patients belonging to well distinguished nephrologist, Dr Alberto Daysog. He documented urinalysis findings of his patients by taking pictures and organizing these into a photo album which he used in teaching medical students, residents and fellows of nephrology. In the year 2000, in the early years of Dr. Marcial鈥檚 clinical practice, he decided to collaborate with Drs. Daysog and Moral to formalize the much-valued urinary sediments photo album into a book (an atlas) to serve as a useful guide to all clinical medical practitioners. Marcial intentionally attached the name Daysog鈥檚 to the book to give honor and credit to Dr. Daysog, a trailblazer on his time.
