On October 4, 2024, Lady Jin Tachiana Kezhia Mangin captured the gold in the 2024 World Taekwondo Junior Championships held in Chuncheon, South Korea.
Bannering the country’s flag in her matches, Mangin was also the first Filipina to rule and stand at the podium after the tournament.
The Thomasian rising athlete dominated Kim Hyang-gi, 2-1, in the final bout of the Women’s 49-kg category, a huge feat that ended the 28-year drought since participating in the said international fete.
Mangin is a Grade 12 UST Senior High School student from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand.
